👨🔧 Queue Management
Manage technician workloads and track who's working on what with the device queue system.
How Queues Work
Each technician has a personal queue showing devices assigned to them. This creates:
- Clear ownership of repairs
- Visibility into workload
- Accountability for progress
- Performance tracking
My Queue
Accessing Your Queue
- Click My Queue in the sidebar
- View all devices assigned to you
- Sorted by priority and date
Queue Views
| View | Shows |

| Active | Devices currently in repair |
| Awaiting | Devices waiting to start |
| Completed | Recently finished devices |
Working from Your Queue
- Select a device from your queue
- Review the repair requirements
- Update status as you work
- Add notes and photos
- Mark complete when done
Assigning Devices
Single Assignment
- Open the device
- Click Assign To
- Select the technician
- Device appears in their queue
Bulk Assignment
- Go to Devices list
- Select multiple devices (checkboxes)
- Click Bulk Actions → Assign
- Select the technician
- Confirm
Auto-Assignment
Configure automatic assignment based on:
- Location
- Device type
- Current workload
Contact support to configure auto-assignment rules.
Reassigning Devices
If a device needs to move to another technician:
- Open the device
- Click current assignee
- Select new technician
- Add note explaining reassignment
The device moves to the new technician's queue.
Queue Status Updates
Quick Status Update
From your queue, update device status without opening:
- Click the status badge on the device row
- Select new status
- Status updates immediately
Status Notes
When changing status, optionally add a note:
- What was done
- What's needed next
- Any blockers
Priority Management
Setting Priority
Devices can be prioritized:
- High - Rush repair, do first
- Normal - Standard turnaround
- Low - When time permits
- Open the device
- Set the Priority level
- Queue reorders based on priority
Priority Indicators
In the queue, priorities are shown:
- 🔴 High priority
- 🟡 Normal priority
- 🟢 Low priority
Workload Visibility
Team View
Managers can see all queues:
- Go to Devices → All Queues
- View devices by technician
- See count and status breakdown
- Identify bottlenecks
Workload Metrics
Dashboard shows:
- Devices per technician
- Average time per repair
- Completion rates
- Status distribution
Unassigned Devices
Devices without an assignee appear in the Unassigned queue:
- Go to Devices → Unassigned
- View devices needing assignment
- Assign to appropriate technician
Tips for Queue Management
For Technicians
- ✅ Check your queue at start of day
- ✅ Update status as you work
- ✅ Add notes for complex repairs
- ✅ Flag blockers immediately
For Managers
- ✅ Monitor queue sizes regularly
- ✅ Balance workloads across team
- ✅ Review unassigned queue daily
- ✅ Address bottlenecks quickly
Notifications
Get notified when:
- New device assigned to you
- Device reassigned from you
- Priority changed on your device
- Manager requests update
Configure notifications in Settings → Account.
