Pre-Repair Photos

Why Take Photos?

Pre-repair photos protect against:

  • "It wasn't like that before" disputes
  • False damage claims
  • Miscommunication about existing issues

What to Photograph

Taking Photos

  1. Open the device in the order
  2. Click Add Photo
  3. Use your device camera or upload
  4. Add a caption (e.g., "Pre-repair - Front")
  5. Save

Photo Tips

  • ✅ Use good lighting
  • ✅ Capture from multiple angles
  • ✅ Focus on existing damage
  • ✅ Include date/time in caption
  • ❌ Don't use blurry images
  • ❌ Don't skip areas with damage

Post-Repair Photos

After completing the repair:

  1. Document the repair quality
  2. Show before/after comparison
  3. Capture test results on screen

Diagnostic Tests

What Are Diagnostic Tests?

Structured checklists to document device condition and functionality:

  • Pre-repair: Record incoming state
  • Post-repair: Verify everything works

Using Canned Response Tests

Pre-configured diagnostic templates:

  1. Open the device
  2. Click Run Diagnostic
  3. Select the test template
  4. Complete each check
  5. Save results

Recording Results

For each test item:

  • Pass - Working correctly
  • Fail - Not working / issue found
  • ⚠️ Note - Works with conditions (add details)

Pre vs. Post Comparison

The system highlights changes between pre and post tests:

  • Items that improved (fixed)
  • Items that stayed the same
  • Any new issues (investigate!)

Canned Response Templates

Creating a Template

  1. Go to SettingsDiagnostic Templates
  2. Click New Template
  3. Add test categories and items
  4. Set as default for device types
  5. Save

Template by Device Type

Different templates for different devices:

  • Phones: Full touch, Face ID tests
  • Laptops: Keyboard, trackpad, ports
  • Tablets: Larger display tests
  • Gaming Consoles: Controller ports, video output

Viewing Device History

All photos and diagnostics are preserved:

  1. Open the device
  2. Click History or Timeline
  3. View all photos with timestamps
  4. View all diagnostic results

Exporting Documentation

For warranty claims or disputes:

  1. Open the device
  2. Click Export Report
  3. PDF includes:
    • All photos (pre and post)
    • Diagnostic test results
    • Repair notes
    • Timestamps

Best Practices

✅ Do

  • Always photograph before starting work
  • Document existing damage clearly
  • Run diagnostics consistently
  • Use the same lighting conditions
  • Train all staff on the process

❌ Don't

  • Skip photos for "quick" repairs
  • Forget to caption photos
  • Complete diagnostics after repair
  • Delete photos if issues arise
